Activision has confirmed more of what fans can expect to see before Operation Monarch brings the legendary monster characters Godzilla and King Kong into Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone on May 11, 2022. The season itself begins on April 27.
With the new event begins early next month, players will be able to dive in with limited-time bundles that are based on Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, and Kong. However, these bundles don’t have a specific date and are only listed as coming “soon” and will only be in the storefront for a limited time during Operation Monarch (meaning after May 11). The Tracer Pack: Kong Limited Time Bundle will celebrate all things King Kong with nine items, including a Legendary “Kong” Operator Skin for Wade inspired by the iconic ape, with a special mask designed after Kong also included in the pack.
Also set to launch in Operation Monarch will be the Tracer Pack: Godzilla Reactive Mastercraft Limited Time Bundle, a nine-item pack based on Godzilla. Finally, the Tracer Pack: Mechagodzilla Limited Time Bundle will also feature nine items, with two of them — the “Machine Learning” MVP Highlight and the “Rival Protocol” Highlight Intro — being exclusive to Call of Duty: Vanguard. Buying two of the packs will give players an exclusive weapon sticker and player title. Getting all three unlocks the Apex Phase Rifle SMG.
Alongside the latest bundle information and notes on all the free and paid content coming in the season, Activision released a brand-new, official trailer for the third season of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone. Unlike the last teaser trailer for Operation Monarch, this one shows much more gameplay, including players traversing Caldera Island (which looks a bit more like Skull Island now), and even coming face-to-face with King Kong himself. Godzilla himself also seems to show up, but details on how it all happens are still a bit hazy.
