The original 2019 film was written and directed by Fingscheidt. It centers around a young aggressive girl who has been moving from one foster home to another due to her uncontrollable anger issues. Her life changes when she forms an unlikely bond with her anger management coach, who helps deal with her trauma, and find inner peace as well as supporting her passion for boxing.

Set to be written by Garret Levitz, the System Crasher remake is also expected to focus on childhood trauma and healing. It will be produced by Tatum, Reid Carolin, and Peter Kiernan for Free Association. It is a production by The Picture Company, with Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona serving as producers.
