Up Here is an eight-episode series that will be directed by Tony winner Thomas Kail (Hamilton) from a screenplay written by Tony-winning playwright Steven Levenson (tick, tick…BOOM!), Anderson-Lopez, and Lopez, with Levenson serving as showrunner.

“Set in the waning days of New York City 1999, the series follows the extraordinary story of one ordinary couple, as they fall in love and discover that the single greatest obstacle to finding happiness together might just be themselves – and the treacherous world of memories, obsessions, fears, and fantasies that lives inside their heads,” reads the logline (via Deadline).

This marks Kail and Levenson’s latest collaboration after working together in the acclaimed limited series Fosse/Verdon, who both earned Emmy nominations for directing and writing, respectively.
