Sofie Birch: Holotropica [Intercourse]
Holotropica is the latest full-length from Danish sound artist and producer Sofie Birch, following last year’s Whisper Fold Brush. On Holotropica, Birch explores her “vision of a place of wholeness, serenity, and clarity,” as she stated in a press release. The record is heavily influenced by the practice of meditation, as well as her first pregnancy, which she described an experience that “although (still) tied to the female sex, is universal and a process we each should undergo in order to love without the noise of self.”
