Cardi B collects her 17th top 10 hit on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as “Hot Shit,” her collaboration with Ye and Lil Durk, starts at No. 7 on the list dated July 16. The move secures the superstar rapper’s sixth straight year of debuting at least one song in the chart’s top 10.

“Hot Shit” traces its debut on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, which measures streaming, radio airplay and sales into its rankings, to 14 million official U.S. streams in the week ending July 7, according to Luminate. The sum yields a No. 3 arrival on R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs. The track begins as the genre’s most-sold song of the week, with 10,000 downloads sold in the same period, while radio airplay registered 12.4 million in U.S. audience across all radio genre formats.

In addition to securing Cardi B’s 17th top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Ye lands his 40th top 10 on the list, making him the eighth act to reach the mark since the list began as an all-encompassing genre chart in 1958. Here’s a look at the updated leaderboard:

  • Drake, 108
  • James Brown, 57
  • Aretha Franklin, 52
  • Lil Wayne, 50
  • Stevie Wonder, 49
  • The Temptations, 42
  • Chris Brown, 40
  • Ye, 40

Lil Durk, meanwhile, scores his 14th Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs’ top 10 and fifth of 2022. “Hot Shit” joins “Broadway Girls,” featuring Morgan Wallen (No. 1 for one week), “Ahhh Ha” (No. 4), “Petty Too,” featuring Future (No. 9) and “What Happened to Virgil,” featuring Gunna (No. 7).

Airplay is beginning to reach a new gear as the single kicks off at No. 17 on the 40-position Rhythmic Airplay chart. The high start rewrites career best debuts for all three artists on the list. Previously, Cardi B’s best start among her 26 entries was a No. 26 entrance for her featured turn alongside A$AP Rocky on G-Eazy’s “No Limit” in 2017. For Ye, his prior highest bow was with 2009’s “Run This Town,” with Rihanna and Jay-Z at No. 23. Lil Durk, meanwhile, outdoes his former personal best of a No. 29 launch for his supporting spot with Lil Baby on DJ Khaled’s “Every Chance I Get” last year.

Further breaking down the impressive debut, “Hot Shit” earns the highest Rhythmic start:

  • of any song since Drake’s “In My Feelings” (No. 11) in July 2018
  • among women since Rihanna’s featured appearance on DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts,” also featuring Bryson Tiller (No. 14) in July 2017
  • among solo women in a lead or co-lead role since Janet Jackson’s “All for You” (No. 11) in 2001

The R&B/hip-hop radio format also supplies strong early reception, with “Hot Shit” jumping 27-18 in its second week on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay. There, it reached 6.8 million in audience in the week ending July 10. Thanks to that and the rhythmic sector, “Hot Shit” debuts at No. 47 on the all-genre Radio Songs chart.

Elsewhere, “Hot Shit” enters at No. 5 on Hot Rap Songs and at No. 13 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.
