You can add Slipknot to the growing list of bands altering their touring schedule after Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine. The group issued a statement in which they revealed they will be postponing their shows in three cities that were located either in Russia or the Ukraine as a result of the ongoing conflict.

In their posting, Slipknot stated that they were doing so out of solidarity for the people of Ukraine, while also acknowledging that there are also Russian and Belarusian fans that are also united with Ukraine in the fight for peace. The band’s statement reads as follows:

Unfortunately we will be postponing our Kyiv, Moscow, and Minsk performances. New dates will be forthcoming.

We had looked forward to reuniting with our fans in these incredible cities, coming back together after global lockdown. But we take this step in support of our community and in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, for whom the struggle continues, in a new and more terrible form. We also acknowledge that our Russian and Belarusian fans are overwhelmingly united with the Ukrainians in their fight for peace.

The safety and well-being of our global families is, and always will be, our top priority. – Slipknot 2022

Over the last week, Green Day, Bring Me the Horizon, Royal Blood, Iggy Pop and more have made alternate tour arrangements where their dates surrounding Russia or Ukraine were concerned. You can see some of the other acts who have altered their touring due to the conflict here.
