Some of these WOR (channel 9 out of Secaucus, New Jersey) promos can be found on YT already–including on this very channel–but I thought I’d put some bits together from one showing of a Million Dollar Movie (in this case, 1965’s “Synanon”). The TV Guide ad shows that this is from the beginning of August, 1985.
It begins with the MDM open, without voiceover (although Ted Mallie is heard elsewhere). There are a number of “Summernine” promos: a general one, one for the Mets playing the Cubs next Sunday, and for the afternoon premieres of “S.W.A.T.” and “Vegas.” There is a station public service announcement about suicide prevention (with Robert Barkovitz), and another NJ PSA bringing attention to bad touches (with Bergen County prosecutor Larry McClure, disbarred for ethics violations twenty years later). “Crisis in Mid-Air” is promo’ed as another MDM, TV Guide’s August 3-9 issue looked at on-set romances, and Sears was hoping to surprise people with their 1985 Fall/Winter catalog. Various MDM bumps are included.
