Oribe launches stunning limited-edition gift boxes

Usually, it takes just one whiff of Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray to fall in love with this iconic and celeb-praised hair brand. Now, we guess it’ll take just one glance at Oribe’s new limited-edition holiday boxes for you to want to collect each and every one. À Paris chez Antoinette Poisson, a French interior design firm, has created the designs based on its hand-drawn and water-coloured wallpapers, an art form that dates to the 18th century. To weave together the firm’s special history with Oribe’s own, the block prints feature classic motifs, including the Oribe goddess emblem and the flowers used in that irresistible Côte d’Azur scent. “We wanted to create the feeling that once you’ve used the products, you want to keep the box as a decorative object, because it looks like something you might find in a French château,” says Jean-Baptiste Martin, co-founder and co-artistic director of À Paris chez Antoinette Poisson. Château dreams, here we come.

Dior names a new in-house perfumer

Fans of luxurious Maison Francis Kurkdjian fragrances will be excited to know that the legendary nose has just been appointed to master perfumer of Dior. While he’ll remain on as artistic director of the label he co-founded in 2009 (both brands are owned by LVMH) he’ll return to Maison Dior, where he created the original Dior Homme cologne, as well as Eau Noire and Cologne Blanche from the luxury fashion house’s high-end Collection Privée, nearly twenty years ago. Kurkdjian has created endless successful scents over the years for brands such as Burburry, Kenzo and Narciso Rodriguez, but is perhaps most noted for creating his first fragrance at the age of 25, the top-selling Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier.

Beautycounter launches a foolproof cream blush

We all know a little well-placed blush can go a long way towards rousing your complexion. Beautycounter’s new talc-, mineral oil-, and fragrance-free cream formula comes in eight flattering, sheer-yet-buildable shades you can swipe on with your fingers. The silky cream, which can be worn on lips and cheeks, leaves you particularly dewy-looking thanks to an ultra-hydrating combo of squalene and jojoba. It’s the perfect refillable compact to throw in your bag for a one-stop-shop wake up call.

Tom Ford drops a winter makeup collection

Calling all ski bunnies! Tom Ford Beauty just launched a chic new winter makeup collection inspired by hitting the slopes in St. Moritz (where else?) and your new down parka might not be complete without it. Meant to invoke that halo-like glow achieved by being incredibly well-lit by both snow and sunlight, the collection includes a shimmery eyeshadow quad and body oil scented by Soleil Neige, the existing eau de parfum with notes of zesty bergamot, Turkish rose and toasty vanilla. The posh lip balm is a standout must-have for the ski lift, since it moisturizes wind-kissed lips, while also plumping and imparting a natural-looking pink hue based on your own lip colour. You’ll look fresh from the double black diamond, even if it’s the après-ski scene that’s a little more your speed.

Reverie saves our scalps with a new exfoliating shampoo

If seasonal scalp woes tend to get you down this time of year, a new in-shower routine might be in order courtesy of Reverie’s new exfoliating shampoo. Founded by hairstylist Garrett Markenson, the sustainable California brand’s new formula has been years in the making and aims to achieve a balanced, healthy scalp without the oft-used gritty sugar or salt, or other bead-like ingredients. Instead, the shampoo acts more like a skincare treatment, and is formulated with hibiscus flower extract and rhassoul clay to gently remove product build-up, dead skin cells and excess sebum, while also retaining much-needed moisture. While particularly ideal for those who use a lot of hair product (hello, dry shampoo lovers) or sweat it at out at the gym on the regular, it’s useful for anyone who could use a scalp tune-up, and is safe for all hair types, including coloured hair.
