It has to be said: We have been spoiled by Zendaya.

Putting aside her pre-Summer 2021 fashion resume, the past few months have been the ultimate ice cream sundae of decadent fashion, with her stylist Law Roach as the pastry chef and Timothée Chalamet as the cherry on top.

So, after being treated to a montage of sickly sweet ensembles, varying from a custom leather gown to a bodice made entirely from chains, expectations for the youngest recipient of the Fashion Icon Award on the 2021 CFDA red carpet were sky-high. She didn’t disappoint.

As a nod to what is perhaps her signature silhouette, Zendaya walked the CFDA red carpet in a custom Vera Wang creation, complete with a crop top and avant-garde skirt. Her rumoured boyfriend and Spiderman co-star Tom Holland perhaps says it best when he took to Instagram to write “Naaa stop it,” with a heart-eyes emoticon.

Of course, she wasn’t the only attendee. Emily Blunt wore a bright orange Christopher John Rogers suit to celebrate the designer taking home the top prize for Womenswear Designer of the Year. Anya Taylor-Joy continued to serve old-Hollywood glamour in Oscar de la Renta. Squid Game breakout star HoYeon Jung stunned in Louis Vuitton. But the real shock of the night came from Kid Cudi, who arrived in an ERL wedding dress.
