The start of the new year brings with it a chance for renewal and fresh beginnings. But if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, it also brings frigid temperatures, gusty weather and slushy streets. And while we love a layered style, we can’t help but dream of spring and the fashion warmer weather brings. Until we can safely say goodbye to Old Man Winter, we’ll be taking a look back at the spring 2022 fashion trends that dominated the runways, so we’ll be armed and ready with outfits that look impressive online and IRL.

Whether you’re looking to update your wardrobe for the new season or just get inspired, these trends are sure to give you something to aspire to. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the spring fashion trends for 2022.

    Bras can be tops, too

The indie sleaze of the 2010s is back with a vengeance (think American Apparel, Kesha and Sky Ferreira). This time around, it’s all about bearing skin. Seen on the runways with baggy jeans and low-hung skirts, we expect this fashion trend to be all the rage in spring 2022.

    Yuzefi

    Curly Bra Top – Apricot

    ($263, Yuzefi)

    Alexander McQueen

    Anna October

    GCDS

    Bling Vinyl Bra

    ($630, GCDS)

    T Label

    Florence Purple Rain

    ($224, T Label)

    Add a fringe accent

First appearing as a trend in Fall/Winter 2021, fringes is taking the fashion world by storm. From runways to street style, this playful and flirty accent will give your look a carefree attitude.

    Benjamin Benmoyal

    Alejandra Alonso Rojas

    Veronica Beard

    Chloé

    Fringed Sweater

    ($2,258, Chloé)

    The mini skirt is back

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but mini length is back in full swing. From Miu Miu‘s internet-breaking micro mini skirt at the SS22 ready-to-wear show to Fendi’s mini shorts at Men’s Fashion Week, it’s high time to show off your gams.

    The Attico

    Emilio Pucci

    Pushbutton

    Red Slit Miniskirt

    ($530, Ssense)

    Karlaidlaw

Ruched Mini Skirt – Grey Camouflage

    ($220, Kathleen)

    Tae Park

    Mini Venus Skort Twill Gold

    ($527, Tae Park)

    Cause a little destruction

Risen from pandemic boredom, the popularity of second-hand clothing and the gaming aesthetic, crafty teens of TikTok resurrected the grungy, apocalyptic style of deliberately destructed garments. “You pay money to have holes in your clothes?” Yes, yes we do.

    Acne Studios

    Maison Margiela

    Garbage Core

    Malboro Trousers Pink 02

    ($570, APOC)

    Khanh Brice Nguyen

    Beige Drop Stitch Knit

    ($669, APOC)

    Maison Mihara Yasuhiro
