The Big Bang Theory actress announced she will “no longer be hosting the syndicated version” of the show

Mayim Bialik is out as the host of Jeopardy!.

The Big Bang Theory star shared the news on her Instagram Friday, writing that the show’s producers had informed her that she will “no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy.”

“As the holiday break begins in Hollywood, I have some Jeopardy! news,” she began in a post set against the series’ iconic blue background. “Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!”

“I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a Primetime Emmy for hosting this year and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Jeopardy! family,” her statement added. “For all of you who have supported me through this incredible journey and to the fans, contestants, writers, staff and crew of America’s Favorite Quiz Show, thank you.”

Following the death of legendary host Alex Trebek, who died November 2020 following a lengthy battle with cancer, Bialik stepped behind the podium in 2021. The actress alternated hosting duties with former champion Ken Jennings after the controversial departure of executive producer Mike Richards.

Bialik left production on Jeopardy! in May, towards the end of season 39, in solidarity with striking writers during the 148-day WGA strike. Jennings returned to show’s 40th season solo in September.

The pair enjoyed a successful run as Jeopardy!’s alternating hosts, stabilizing the long-running game show after a tumultuous effort to replace Alex Trebek, and the series cycled through an array of guest hosts. This year, both Bialik and Jennings garnered Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Host of a Game Show.
