Looks like Luke Combs and his wife Nicole have a bona fide country boy on their hands.
The couple’s oldest son, Tex, turned two years old last month, and the family celebrated with a birthday cake fit for any budding little farmer. It was decorated in John Deere green icing, and embellished with mini crop patches, ears of corn and a toy front end loader.
The cake read “Happy Birthday Tex” in white letters, and in the photo of it Nicole shared to social media, you can see a couple other toy construction vehicles along its side.
The snapshot of Tex’s birthday cake was part of a round-up of photos Nicole posted to sum up the month of June. Also pictured were bouquets of flowers, golf outings and one shot of the couple and their two young sons posing in front of a real-life tractor.
Combs’ kids don’t have much of a social media presence: The country star parents don’t share their faces online, nor do they regularly document their children’s life and interests. However, if Tex’s birthday cake is any indication, he’s a big fan of farm vehicles.
Tex was born on June 19, 2022. The Combs’ welcomed their second child, a son named Beau, just over a year later, in August 2023.
Beau was born two and a half weeks before his due date, when Combs was overseas performing shows on an international tour. Earlier this summer, the singer gave an emotional interview about how devastating it was to miss his son’s birth.
He recalled waking up to a text from his wife, who was in labor. “He wasn’t born yet, but my wife went and she texted me on the way to the hospital,” Combs recounts. “…I was supposed to be home and I wasn’t, and that was real hard to do.”
Fatherhood is a huge part of Combs’ life these days. His most recent album is a project full of “dad songs” called Fathers & Sons.

See Pictures of Luke Combs’ New Nashville Bar, Category 10
Luke Combs is ready to join the ranks of country artists who have opened their own bars in Nashville’s Broadway district. The honky-tonk will be called Category 10, playing off of his debut single “Hurricane.” Although true hurricanes are categorized no higher than a Category 5, Combs opted to double the intensity with a 10 ranking. It’s a nod to his career, really.
Category 10 will be anything but small: The bar will be the largest entertainment venue on the strip, featuring the area’s biggest dance floor and rooftop. Combs is also including more intimate spaces to accommodate young talented singers and songwriters.
