Fanatic Feed: Teacup’s Perfect Teaser, Mormon Wives (No, really), The Gentlemen Renewed & More

We’re still in the dog days of summer, but that doesn’t mean word isn’t dropping about new and exciting things.

True crime fans will be thrilled with Investigation Discovery’s latest offerings, and people who can’t get enough of wives’ action might be excited about exploring Mormon momfluencers (no, really).

And amidst a bunch of trailers, one teases a big battle that HoTD could have used, and another may be the perfect teaser. Check it out!

The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Is BRINGING the Battle

Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power returns to Prime Video on August 29, and the second season’s official trailer has dropped.

Movie-quality (ack, how I hate that phrase) action and special effects hammer home the grim reality of war, in this case, the brimming Siege of Eregion.

If you were discontent with the slow-moving nature of House of the Dragon that dragged viewers along for eight meandering episodes that may or may not lead to an intense battle whenever the story continues, Rings of Power may be your salve.

Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power is TV’s most expensive program ever, and there is no debate as to the beauty of it. Will the battle capture new audiences desperate for action?

Take a look at the trailer and decide for yourself.

We need more Gentlemen in This World

Netflix has opted for more of The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie’s TV exploration of his movie of the same name.

Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, and Daniel Ings will return, but production isn’t set to get underway until 2025, so you’ve got a long wait. However, in a chat with Netflix’s Tudum, the cast offered their thoughts about a second season.

“It’d be fun to see the business spread a bit more,” Scodelario told Tudum when the show launched.

“How do they take it to the next level? They’re very adamant about not getting into the chop game, so how do they then continue to build the empire? Where does that take them? How does the new structure of the business work practically?”

Eddie and Susie are now partners, but how will their relationship evolve as the story moves forward?

“I think they’ve grown to love each other in their own way, but I think they’ll never fully trust each other because they are so different, and they’re from such vastly different worlds,” James told Tudum.

“There’s a love between them, but ultimately, they will never be from the same cloth.”

Bet You Didn’t Know You Needed Mormon Momfluencers!

Get ready to have your notion of Mormonism turned upside down with Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

Hey, why not, right? At a time when, socially, being a wife and mother isn’t cool for feminism, it sure is grand for TV exploitation!

In this unexpected series, the scandalous world of a group of Mormon mom influencers implodes when they get caught in the midst of a swinging sex scandal that makes international headlines.

Now, their sisterhood is shaken to its core. Faith, friendship, and reputations are all on the line. Will #MomTok be able to survive and continue to give the rulebook a run for its money, or will this group fall from grace?

I’m not even sure what else we can say about this, so take a look at the trailer.

Three New Spinetingling Series Coming to ID This September

This September, leading true crime network Investigation Discovery will premiere three new series, and they sound pretty good!

How (Not) To Get Rid of a Body

First up is How (Not) To Get Rid of a Body, a psychological true crime thriller exploring the lengths killers go to dispose of a body. Premiering Wednesday, September 4, at 10/9c on ID and Max, it’s a psychological thriller exploring the outlandish lengths diabolical killers have taken to get away with murder.

Each horrifying episode reveals never-before-seen material and recounts in-depth tales of twisted criminal masterminds who go to great lengths and efforts to concoct plans to dispose of their victims.

However, the unflinching tenacity and determination of the country’s top detectives who are hellbent on solving these heinous crimes bring to light these crimes and justice for those criminals who would have certainly gotten away with murder and been free to kill again.

The Real Murders on Elm Street

The Real Murders on Elm Street is a six-part docuseries premiering on September 9 at 9/8c.

It looks into chilling small suburban towns across America that have been torn apart by murders that have just so happened to be on various Elm Streets.

At the heart of the series is the central question of how, in a single night, these quaint residential Elm Streets can descend from peace and tranquility into horror, senseless death, and tragedy.

Each episode will examine a murder investigation that occurred on one of the many Elm Streets across America, with each episode proving horror happens everywhere…

    Cabin in the Woods

Cabin in the Woods also premieres on Monday, September 9, following The Real Murders on Elm Street.

In horror movies, nothing good ever happens to those in a cabin in the woods.

In this series, true stories of ghastly, sometimes convoluted crimes take place in remote cabins around the country, and for good reason: they allow those with evil intentions to carry out the most heinous of acts in peace and quiet away from prying eyes and ears.

Combining hard-hitting investigative elements with spine-tingling thrills and chills, this true-crime-meets-true-horror series features the most terrifying crimes ever committed in isolated and otherwise picturesque cabin dwellings.

    Here’s your first look:

We Think the Teacup Teaser is Perfect!

When it comes to trailers, sometimes, you get way more than you bargained for.

That’s not the case with Peacock‘s Teacup, which amplifies terror and withholds plot. You know what ruins a good viewing experience? Knowing everything that happens in a series or movie because the trailer gives it all away.

Let’s point fingers: Why bother going to see Speak No Evil when the whole movie is in the trailer? How do I know this? Because it looks like a shot-for-shot remake of the Danish movie of the same name that I went into blind.

Teacup is playing it closer to the vest, and we thank them for that.

Here’s what we do know: Inspired by the New York Times bestselling novel Stinger by Robert McCammon, Teacup follows a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.

Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, Chaske Spencer, Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, and Luciano Leroux star in this James Wan production written by Ian McCullough and directed by E.L. Katz.

Now, THIS is how you market horror!
