MUBI & Hopeworld Join Forces for Epic ‘The Substance’ Body Horror Candle [SPOILERS]

After making headlines and smashing through box office records throughout the Halloween season, Art the Clown made even more history with a special appearance in Times Square on Halloween day. Art and franchise star Lauren LaVera, joined by Cineverse executives and franchise producer Phil Falcone, were on hand to ring the Nasdaq Closing Bell.

If you missed the live stream on the official @NasdaqExchange social media accounts at 4pm EST on Halloween Day, you can watch the full video from the special event down below!

Cineverse, Bloody Disgusting and the Terrifier team were invited to the Nasdaq MarketSite to celebrate the box office success of Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3, which has thus far scared up $46.2 million domestically and $59.1 million worldwide. It’s an unprecedented success story for an unrated indie horror movie, now officially the highest grossing unrated film in history.

Joined by Art the Clown and Lauren LaVera, Cineverse President Erick Opeka took to the Nasdaq podium to begin the celebration. “Special thanks goes to the creative team behind the production of the Terrifier franchise, which has become a horror film phenomenon and number one box office hit,” said Opeka. “We couldn’t be more thrilled with the success, and we’re grateful to have Terrifier 3 producer Phil Falcone, and lead actress Lauren LaVera here with us today, along with Art the Clown himself. We look forward to building on this momentum, both in horror, powered by Cineverse’s Bloody Disgusting team, the leading brand in the category, and other genres across theatrical, streaming, podcast, publishing and more.”

Watch Art the Clown and Lauren LaVera ring the Nasdaq Closing Bell below!

Premiering in North American theaters on October 11, Terrifier 3 opened at No. 1 at the box office, surpassing major studio films including Joker: Folie à Deux. Following this thrilling win for independent cinema, the latest installment of the successful franchise has amassed more than $45 million domestically, far surpassing its budget and expectations.
