Carrie Underwood Performs During ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ 2025

Carrie Underwood‘s out with the old, in with the new attitude only applied to the year. As the headlining performer for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2025, the country star bid 2024 farewell with a medley performance of hits spanning her two-decade-long career.

From Times Square, the artist performed “Before He Cheats” from her 2005 debut album Some Hearts, 2016’s “Church Bells” from Storyteller, and “Pink Champagne” from 2022’s Denim & Rhinestones. Underwood also revealed her upcoming Reflection concert special coming to Hulu in January.

“I have such fun memories of performing on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in Times Square in both 2007 and 2015, and I’m so excited to perform just before the ball drops again this year,” Underwood said in a statement when her performance slot was first announced. “I’m thrilled to celebrate 20 years since winning American Idol by joining Ryan as he hosts his 20th New Year’s Eve in Times Square.”

Country music made a lot of noise in 2024, crossing over into pop and hip-hop while also launching quite a few stars of its own. Some of the genre’s biggest performers, including Dasha, Megan Maroney, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton, Ernest, and Cody Johnson, also performed during the New Year’s Eve special.

Rockin’ Eve kept the party going from coast to coast. A number of performances were held in Las Vegas with host football star Rob Gronkowski. Ryan Seacrest and Rita Ora held it down in New York, and Jeannie Mai also returned as the West Coast correspondent for the show.

And it wasn’t an all-out country fest. The Jonas Brothers, Tinashe, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Kesha, and Alanis Morissette also joined the lineup. Hip-Hop artists Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh rounded out the lineup.

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2025 aired live on ABC and will be available to stream on Hulu beginning Jan. 1. (Penske Media Corporation owns Dick Clark Productions, which is also the parent company of Rolling Stone.)
