General Hospital fans recently saw the fallout between Willow and Drew’s tryst coming to light at a Christmas party. Willow’s actress Katelyn MacMullen previously talked about the reveal. Since then, she’s also hinted what could happen next on the soap.
Katelyn MacMullen Believes Willow Thinks Things Will Be Okay, For Now
MacMullen first come to prominence playing Willow Tait on General Hospital, first appearing as the character in 2018. First introduced as a teacher in Port Charles, the character would also become known through her various relationships on the soap.
Willow’s marriage to Michael Corinthos has seen its ups and downs, from annulments to separations. In a recent storyline, however, Willow started a relationship with Michael’s uncle Drew Quartermaine.
This relationship would eventually be revealed at a Christmas party on the soap. The revelation could have a powerful impact on the story, effecting Willow’s marriage as well as the custody of her children.
In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Willow’s actress, Katelyn MacMullen, shared what she thinks Willow’s thought process is in the moment. As she noted, “I think at first, she was thinking, ‘Okay, we’ll figure this out. Michael and I have always sort of been able to compromise and work together.’
However, MacMullen feels reality will hit Willow eventually. As she mused, “But I think when she sees how his family is reacting, it definitely makes her wary about what might happen.”
MacMullen feels that, “They are just so upset with her, and she’s seen some stuff happen in the past with other people. She continued that Willow’s “like, ‘I really don’t want to be on the receiving end of that.’”
MacMullen Teased Willow Will Face Something Unexpected
The actress also described Willow as being “a little in over her head and overwhelmed,” She continued, “She’s like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, I’m not ready for a lawyer. Michael and I will work this out, we’ll talk about it, we’ve always been able to figure things out and I know we can make this fair.’ But then, of course, events transpire to change that.”
The actress also noted that, at this time, Willow is relying on Nina and Drew for support. However, this could backfire when it comes to light that the two were also in a relationship together.
MacMullen mused that this might not be the case, at least how she sees it. As she explained, “Maybe I have a bias of wanting things to work out because Willow and Nina because they’ve always been at odds and I think it would be really cool to see them somehow make their way through this.”
On the other hand, Michael has something he could use against Willow: her plans to travel away with Drew to Washington, D.C. MacMullen hinted this could lead to a twist. As she noted, “It’s something she isn’t expecting. And it really throws her.”
