Certain ingredients go into almost every recipe for a successful procedural series, whether it deals with cops, hospitals, or firefighting.
The one cliche and trope that never seems to go out of style is the classic “Will They, Won’t They.”
It’s an overused storytelling tool for a reason, but it may not be as welcomed on High Potential as the writers think. If you’re anything like this TV Fanatic, the last thing you want is for Morgan and Karadec to end up together.
Don’t get me wrong — they have great chemistry, but whether that’s due to the characters working so well together or something more is yet to be seen.
You tell me. Is there something more going on with this attractive investigating duo? Should there be? Would you welcome that, or would it drag down High Potential?
How Did Morgan And Karadec Go From Barely Tolerating Each Other To Potential Love Interests?
It seems like High Potential is trying to slow-burn Morgan and Karadec into romantic feelings for each other.
The two have already undergone the classic “Hatred to Friendship” route if you recall their rather hostile working relationship in High Potential Season 1 Episode 1.
There was plenty of yelling, arguing, and quitting on the spot to convince any viewer that Karadec and Morgan wouldn’t even be able to be in the same room together.
So, how in the world did we get to the moment where we are questioning if these two will end up together down the line?
I see the clues there, but it thankfully doesn’t look like either character will be acknowledging or even noticing any growing feeling for a while.
Not to mention, Tom has just been introduced, and Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) has only been seen on one date so far. If nothing else, there must be at least a montage or Karadec on some hilarious dates.
Karadec, And Tom, And Ludo, Oh My!
Personally, I think Morgan and Karadec act more like siblings than potential love interests. Their working relationship has become so fun as it’s grown, and they have developed a real respect for each other.
They’ve only begun to scratch the surface of their friendship’s “messing with each other” stage. There’s no need to start complicating things with feelings.
Besides, some of us still hold out hope for Ludo. Remember the guy who was just last seen in High Potential Season 1 Episode 7, worried to death about Morgan and Ava?
That man has been the father and co-parent of the year because of how he supports Morgan and how active he stays in the kids’ lives. You’re telling me he isn’t a contender?
I’m just saying the guy already has a history with the main character, and it would be so easy for the two of them to pick up where they left off.
Miss Morgan Has More Matches In Her Back Pocket Than Even Someone With Her Eagle-Eyes Can Detect
However, if Morgan and Karadec are headed for a possible linking, my money is on Karadec being the first to feel something.
He’s slowly but surely been revealing his hand and how lonely he has been due to his one true love: work.
You know this series is completely based on fiction because in the real world, a tall, handsome, and successful detective like Karadec would be beating off potential suitors with a stick.
For the sake of the story, however, I’m willing to accept that the only possible match for someone like Karadec would be someone he works closely with, i.e., Morgan (Kaitlin Olson).
The only certain thing is that Morgan has plenty of potential to find love both at work and at home. I’m not mad about it either because the character’s heart is as big as her brain.
Whatever the case may be, with the impeccable writing of the series, viewers can expect to be on board with whatever direction ABC‘s High Potential goes in.
What’s been your favorite Karadec and Morgan moment?
