Addison Rae Drops ‘High Fashion’ Music Video: WATCH

The track’s video captures the singer in her Britney era

Addison Rae is sticking with the luxuries she deserves — and saying no to bad love. On Friday, the pop star dropped her first single of 2025, “High Fashion,” the newest release ahead of her debut album expected later this year.

“Wantin’ somethin’ more than just a hit/Nothing else can make me feel like this,” sings Rae in the opening verse, before declaring in the chorus: “I don’t want cheap love, I’d rather get high fashion.” The track’s video features Rae frolicking in powdered sugar and in another scene, lingering in her closet, surrounded by an excess of clothes and shoes. Elsewhere in the video, Rae enters her Britney era in a sparkly bra and low-cut jeans and later ends the video evoking Dorothy in a blue dress paired with red slippers as a field burns behind her.

“Don’t be lonely on Valentine’s Day… get High Fashion!” she previously captioned a post of the “High Fashion” single artwork, which sees the song’s title tattooed on her glittery feet as she lays on a hardwood floor. She also shared some Wizard of Oz-esque visuals for the video as she teased the lyrics in an Instagram post.

The new single continues the TikTok queen-turned-pop star’s music takeover after gracing the cover of Rolling Stone last month. Rae told Rolling Stone that after she wrote the “High Fashion” chorus, “I don’t need your drugs/I’d rather get high fashion,” she made a collage “of shoes and glamorous things and Marilyn Monroe” to inspire her new era. “I want to be prim and poised,” she said at the time. “Marilyn Monroe never said ‘y’all.’”

The new single is Rae’s first release of the year after Arca reimagined “Aquamarine” as “Arcamarine” in November. The pop star dropped the uber-viral “Diet Pepsi” in August 2024 after joining Charli XCX on the “Von Dutch” remix with A.G. Cook. Her EP, AR, which featured Charli XCX and a Lady Gaga-recorded demo, arrived in 2023. The singer’s debut album is expected at some point this year.
