Blake Shelton Feels Guilt For Former ‘Voice’ Contestant’s Death

Blake Shelton is feeling guilty for a former The Voice contestant’s death. The contestant was Ryan Whyte Maloney and he ended up committing suicide in Las Vegas. This was a devastating thing for everyone to hear. However, Blake is taking a lot of the blame for it and is torn up about the entire situation. There is a lot to unfold. Keep reading to find out more about this situation.

Blake Shelton Coached On The Voice

Blake Shelton was one of the original coaches on The Voice. He is known for winning the show and having friendly banter with his fellow coach Adam Levine. However, Blake was on the show for so long that he did not want to do it anymore. He decided it was time for a break. Fans were devastated to see the last original coach leave. However, Adam Levine returned for the current season of The Voice. He is alongside Kelsea Ballerini, John Legend, and Michael Buble. Blake does not have any plans at the moment to return to the show.

He Feels Guilt Over Ryan Maloney’s Suicide

A former contestant on The Voice committed suicide in Las Vegas in front of his fiance in January. This was an awful situation. Ryan Maloney and his fiance got into an argument in the car while in Vegas. Ryan stopped the car in the middle of the street, grabbed a gun out of the center console, and went out in the street. His fiance heard one shot before rushing after him. He then ended his life right in front of her. However, he was a contestant on Blake’s team. So, Shelton feels guilt that there was nothing more he could do for him.

“Blake saw how badly Ryan wanted his kind of fame and fortune and gave him so many pep talks over the years. Blake believed his time was coming and even gave him a great-paying gig performing regularly at [Blake’s chain of venues] Ole Red to help him out. He only learned later that Ryan suffered from emotional downturns and had suicidal thoughts for some time, but Ryan never showed that side of himself to Blake.”

Fans hate that this happened in the first place. However, they also hate that Blake is blaming himself for this situation. Fans are sending their condolences to Ryan’s family and friends during this hard time.

It seems as though Blake wishes he could have done more for him. The country singer also wishes that he knew he was struggling mentally so he could have helped him before it got to the point of ending his own life. While Blake is feeling the guilt of this, fans want him to know that it is not his fault and there is nothing more he could have done for him. What do you think about Blake’s guilt over the situation? Do you think he should feel guilty? Sound off in the comments below. We would love to hear your thoughts on this.
