Justin Timberlake ‘Heartbroken’ to Cancel Final Show of U.S. Tour

Justin Timberlake ‘Heartbroken’ to Cancel Final Show of U.S. Tour

The singer was scheduled to perform in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday night

Justin Timberlake canceled his concert last night in Columbus, Ohio, citing a battle with the flu. He shared the news with fans only hours before the show was due to start at Nationwide Arena.

“You guys, I’m heartbroken,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “I have to cancel the show tonight. I went into soundcheck battling the flu and now it’s gotten the best of me. It kills me to disappoint you and my team who worked so hard to make this show happen. I want to reassure you, you’ll be getting refunds for your tickets. I love you all.”

The show marked the final night of the North American leg of Timberlake’s ongoing Forget Tomorrow World Tour. The concert was previously postponed in October when the singer was diagnosed with bronchitis and laryngitis. “Hey guys – I haven’t been feeling great the last few shows and turns out I have bronchitis and laryngitis,” he wrote at the time. “I’m so sorry to say I do need to reschedule the next few shows from 10/23 through 11/2… Thank you for understanding – I’ll make it up to you.”

Timberlake has been hit with several cancelations and postponements since the Forget Tomorrow World Tour kicked off last April in Vancouver. In October, he was forced to postpone a gig in Newark, New Jersey just hours before he was supposed to hit the stage because of an injury. Timberlake also had to call off a show in London this last February after coming down with “some kind of bug.”

The Forget Tomorrow World Tour resumes overseas on March 21 in Buenos Aires at Lollapalooza Argentina and will end in Paris on July 20 after a European leg. The singer is set to perform back in the U.S. at BottleRock Napa Valley in Napa, California, on May 24.

Earlier this week, Timberlake celebrated the culmination of the North American dates, noting on Instagram, “I wanted to take a minute to shout out this incredible tour family. These are the people who keep this whole thing running. You guys don’t get to see everyone on stage, but without every single person in this picture – none of this would be possible. So much love. Let’s do it ONE MORE TIME tomorrow night in Columbus.”
