We Just Cast 9-1-1: Nashville Ourselves (You’re Welcome)

We Just Cast 9-1-1: Nashville Ourselves (You’re Welcome)

For better or worse, 9-1-1: Nashville will be coming to a screen near you this fall!

To date, not much is known about the series.

We’ve had some casting updates and little teasers about some of the characters, but as we prepare to enter the dog days of summer, we don’t know much about what the latest entry in the 9-1-1 franchise will bring.

    (Sonja Flemming/CBS)

One of the things we do know is that the series will be led by Christopher O’Donnell, the former Robin on the big screen, who also spent fourteen seasons playing Special Agent G. Callen on NCIS: Los Angeles.

He’ll portray Captain Don Sharpe, described as a veteran firefighter and former rodeo rider who will work alongside his son, Ryan (not yet cast), and lead a Nashville firehouse.

Grey’s Anatomy veteran Jessica Capshaw will step in to play Blythe, Don’s wife and Ryan’s mother, while country star LeAnn Rimes and veteran actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley will star in undisclosed roles.

But who else will don the turnouts and spend a lot of their time in the call center?

    (Sonja Flemming/CBS)

We have no idea who will be rounding out the rest of cast, but that won’t stop us from engaging in a bit of casting for fun!

Now, this is just our wish and more than likely, it won’t come true, but what’s life without a little dreaming?

Let’s get into our dream list of 9-1-1: Nashville cast members!

    Connie Britton

    Abby Chats - 9-1-1 Season 3 Episode 18
    (Jack Zeman/FOX)

You’re probably thinking, ‘So you want Abby Clark to show up in Nashville?’ And the answer to that would be why not?

Britton spent several seasons on Nashville as the tortured Rayna James, so she knows a thing or two about the city. And she could hold her own when tasked to sing a song or two.

Dropping Abby into Nashville would give the audience a connection back to the original series, and it would be interesting for Abby fans out there (they must exist!) to see what she’s been up to and then watch her navigate a new set of wackiness in a new city.

We’re not sure who the resident dispatcher will be on this series, but Abby could easily step back into the position and return to it if it was the right thing for her at her current stage in life.

    Coco Jones

    (Travis Ellison/PEACOCK)

With the Nashville location, there will be some singing on this show in some capacity. And who better than accomplished actress and singer Coco Jones to join the cast!

Coco can currently be seen on Peacock’s reimagined version of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air series Bel-Air, and with the show coming to an end soon, she would be free to step into a role on the 9-1-1 spinoff.

Perhaps she’s a firefighter who went to Nashville to pursue a singing career, and although she loves her job, she wonders what could have been had she found her big break in Music City.

We could then see her navigate those doubts all while being a kickass firefighter.

Any excuse to have Coco back on our screens, we’ll take!

    LL Cool J

Tracking a Thief - NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 Episode 13
    (Sonja Flemming/CBS)

This wish is pretty much a given.

LL Cool J spent sixteen seasons working alongside Chris O’Donnell on NCIS: Los Angeles, and it’s clear that the two have chemistry and a great on-screen camaraderie.

It may be odd for audiences to see the two working together but not as G. Callen and Sam Hanna, but those people will have to get over it. Acting is all about stepping into new roles, and we’d like to see the two actors team up again, even in a brand-new universe with brand-new characters.

      by Jasmine Blu

Maybe Mr. Cool J is the detective who is a longtime friend of Captain Sharpe, or perhaps he’s a fellow firefighter nearing retirement who decides to stay with the firehouse after a devastating opening emergency.

Let’s think outside the box, people! Anything for a reunion!

    Adina Porter

    (Frank Ockenfels/FX)

Adina Porter has shown up a few times in the Ryan Murphy universe, so there’s no reason why she couldn’t show up here as a fire chief.

Or, if the LL Cool J thing doesn’t work out, maybe she’s the seasoned detective who often works with the main firehouse of the series.

Porter is a wonderful character-actress, and she elevates any project that she’s in, so we’d selfishly like to see her in a series regular role.

If this new 9-1-1 follows the formula of the older version, there are plenty of roles she could fill, and the series would be lucky to have her.

    John Cho

Walking Out Alive - Cowboy Bebop Season 1 Episode 8
    (Geoffrey Short/Netflix)

We are BIG John Cho fans here at TV Fanatic.

From his stint on Sleepy Hollow to The Afterparty, Cho has starred in numerous television shows over the years while also accumulating an impressive list of film credits.

John can do anything from action to drama to comedy to romance, and we’d love to see him head down south to Nashville and bring his talents to the 9-1-1 universe.

      by TV Fanatic Staff

We’re not sure what role would fit him the best, but Cho can step into anything and may it his own, so we’re not stressing too hard about where he’d end up.

Firefighter, police officer, dispatcher, or something else entirely. Cho would be an EXCELLENT addition to the cast.

    Raymond Ablack

Wine Day - Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Episode 4
    (Netflix (Screenshot))

Where are our Ginny & Georgia fans?

We’re very sorry, but we may need to steal Raymond Ablack away for a little while so he can come about the 9-1-1 offshoot and introduce himself to the universe.

Ablack was a child actor on Degrassi who has a grown into a tremendous adult actor, plus he’s an internet darling. People love themselves some Raymond Ablack, and who can blame them?

He has a great on-screen presence and exudes chemistry with nearly anyone you put in front of him. Let’s get him down to Nashville!

    Making Magic - Grey's Anatomy Season 20 Episode 4
