The “Marvel Zombies” are taking a bite out of Disney+ this Halloween, with ComicBook.com confirming that all four episodes of the animated series will premiere in September.
“Marvel Zombies” will premiere on Disney+ on September 24, 2025.
“All I can say is, blood will be spilled,” showrunner Bryan Andrews tells the outlet.
In 2021, Disney+ series “What If…?” teased the horror possibilities from Marvel Studios with the introduction of “Marvel Zombies” in a one-off episode that turned our favorite superheroes into the undead. Now they’re getting their own animated series, based on the comic run of the same name that sees an alternate universe where various heroes get infected.
ComicBook.com reports, “the cast includes David Harbour (Red Guardian), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Florence Pugh (Yelena), Simu Liu (Shang Chi), Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), Awkwafina (Katy Chen), Randall Park (Agent Jimmy Woo), Dominique Thorne (Ironheart), and Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye) reprising their respective roles in the MCU.”
The aforementioned episode of the “What If…?” animated series ended on a bit of a cliffhanger that saw the small group of survivors heading to Wakanda to regroup, unaware that a zombified Thanos with an Infinity Gauntlet had already decimated the area. The upcoming “Marvel Zombies” spinoff series is said to be “pretty intense” and “for sure a TV-MA show.”
