Mike Flanagan Wraps Production on ‘Carrie’ Series, “One of My Favorite Projects Ever”

Mike Flanagan has wrapped production on his series adaptation of Stephen King‘s “Carrie.”

“This has been one of the best experiences of my career, one of the very best ensembles I’ve ever worked with, and already one of my favorite projects ever,” Flanagan shared on Instagram. “Cannot wait for you guys to see what we made.”

Described as “a bold and timely reimagining” of King’s 1974 debut novel,  principal photography began on June 16 in Vancouver.

Summer H. Howell stars as Carrie White in the eight-episode series, which is expected to be released on Prime Video in 2026.

Samantha Sloyan, Siena Agudong, Alison Thornton, Thalia Dudek, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Joel Oulette, Amber Midthunder, and Matthew Lillard round out the cast.

Recurring guest stars include Kate Siegel, Michael Trucco, Katee Sackhoff, Rahul Kohli, Crystal Balint, Danielle Klaudt, Heather Graham, Tim Bagley, Tahmoh Penikett, Mapuana Makia, Naika Toussaint, Delainey Hayles, Cassandra Naud, and Rowan Danielle.

Misfit high-schooler Carrie White has spent her life in seclusion with her domineering mother. After her father’s sudden and untimely death, Carrie finds herself contending with the alien landscape of public high school, a bullying scandal that shatters her community, and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers.

Flanagan serves as writer and showrunner in addition to directing select episodes. Amazon MGM Studios produces.

“Carrie” marks Flanagan’s fourth King adaptation, following Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleep, and The Life of Chuck.

The novel was previously adapted by Brian De Palma in 1976, David Carson in 2002, and Kimberly Peirce in 2013.
