Becky G is grateful for this rare gem of a friendship.
The Encuentros singer gushed over her bond with Selena Gomez and the comforting lesson she’s learned from her.
“She’s been so authentic throughout her journey,” Becky, 28, exclusively told E! News at the TIME100 Next Gala on Oct. 30, where she was honored as a rising star. “We live in a time, especially when you’ve existed in an industry since a young age, where a lot of people try to tell you who you are. And that journey of finding your voice and becoming who you’ve always been on the inside is not an easy one.”
Indeed, the Revival singer, 33, has been vocal about finding her identity—both as a singer and a mental health advocate—over the last decade of her career. And for Becky (real name Rebbeca Marie Gomez), seeing Selena embrace that level of her self-love journey is inspiring.
“She’s been very courageous with that, and that’s something that I admire so much about her,” she continued. “She’s such a beautiful person inside and out.”
