‘The View’ Co-Hosts Clash With Savannah Chrisley Over Trump

Savannah Chrisley recently joined the ladies of The View as a guest co-host. While discussing various “hot topics,” the television personality didn’t always see eye-to-eye with the rest of the panel. In particular, Savannah had a clash of sorts over President Donald Trump.

Savannah Chrisley Was Filling In For Alyssa Farah Griffin On The View

Savannah, the daughter of Todd and Julie Chrisley, became known to many as part of Chrisley Knows Best. After her parents were convicted of 2022 charges, including tax evasion and bank fraud, Savannah made headlines as she campaigned for her their release. In 2025, Todd and Julie would be pardoned by President Donald Trump.

Recently, viewers saw Savannah Chrisley join The View as a guest host. This took place as regular co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin was out on maternity leave.

During a recent episode, the co-hosts talked about President Donald Trump’s recent actions concerning DEI initiatives. This conversation also included a judge’s order to restore the slavery exhibit that had been removed from The President’s House in Independence National Historical Park.

During the discussion, Whoopi Goldberg noted that Trump was accused of sending “mixed messages” during Black History Month. A clip was shown in which Trump called Rev. Jesse Jackson “a person I knew very well,” as well as describing him as “a piece of work.” He also praised rapper Nicki Minaj, noting her support for his administration. He also noted, “Her skin’s so beautiful.”

Savannah shared that she understood why people took issue with the president’s rants. However, she took issue with people referring to Trump as being racist. Noting her own background with him, she shared, “What’s so hard for me to witness is people stating that the president is a racist, because I’ve seen him firsthand.”

A Now-Deleted Video Shared On Truth Social Also Became A Topic Of Discussion

Hostin interjected, saying, “He is racist,” which Chrisley disputed, saying that Trump had saved the life of a friend of hers, described as a “black woman who has been with him for 18 years.” Hostin pushed back, saying, “So, he has a black friend. He’s a racist.”

Goldberg also chimed in, feeling that Trump struggled “to distinguish between Black people and his idea of what DEI is.” This was in reference to the 2025 executive order, “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History,” in which Trump targeted Independence National Historical Park.

As noted by People, National Park Service workers could be seen removing multiple panels and video displays about slavery from the park. On February 16, a judge reversed the order, calling it unlawful.

The hosts also discussed a now-deleted video posted on Trump’s Truth Social, allegedly by a White House staffer, which depicted former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, as primates. The post was deleted. However, Trump, after claiming to have seen the meme, shared that the depiction was simply meant as a reference to The Lion King.

The Chrisley Knows Best Star Shared Something She Did Agree On

Hostin brought up the video and took issue with the claim it was posted by a White House staffer. Chrisley defended the claim.

Savannah also praised HBCUs (or “Historically Black Colleges and Universities”) getting permanent funding during Trump’s administration. Hostin, however, claimed that this funding started before he was in office.

Ultimately, Chrisley agreed “wholeheartedly that the White House failed when it came to the posting of that video. Because it is the White House’s responsibility to protect minority groups that lost friendships and relationships over just standing for President Trump.”
