Rapper and musician Jelly Roll has been accused of making a death threat against a comedian. This reportedly comes out amid a feud between the two figures. Since then, police in Nashville have been weighing in on the story.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department Have Shared Details About The Story
Jason Bradley DeFord, also known as Jelly Roll, is an American rapper and songwriter. Starting his career in the early 2000s, he rose to fame with his 2022 singles, “Son of a Sinner” and “Need a Favor.”
In recent years, Jelly Roll has also established himself as something of a television personality. In 2025, he joined American Idol as its first-ever “Artist in Residence” for Season 23.

According to TMZ, Jelly Roll has been dealing with accusations from Canadian comedian and YouTuber Nicole Arbour. According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, “there appears to be an ongoing online back and forth between the two.”
Despite this, Nashville police do not appear to be building a case out of the story. As they shared, “No charges have been filed and there is no current investigation underway on the part of MNPD.”
This statement comes out after Arbour escalated her feud with the singer. According to the outlet, she recently accused his team of sending an alleged “hush money” deal. She also threatened to sue her is she didn’t sign it.
Nicole Arbour Made Allegations Concerning Jelly Roll In An Incident Reported Filed Back In March
As the outlet continued, Arbour also claimed that she rejected the alleged agreement and called the rapper out on social media for refusing to apologize for what she claims was years of behind-the-scenes threats. Allegedly, she claimed these issues involved Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie XO.
Things now appear to have gone beyond social media posts. According to an incident report filed on March 1, Nicole told authorities that she had been dealing with “ongoing issues” involving the rapper, listed under his legal name, Jason DeFord, and people connected to him. She also allegedly provided video that she says captured an incident. Deputies have shared that they reviewed the footage and identified both Jelly Roll and another man in the clip.

According to the report, Jelly Roll allegedly referenced seeing Nicole at a charity event with a camera. The comedian claimed that was when he allegedly told her if he saw her with the camera, “He would kill her.”
The report also noted that deputies have shared that they heard the alleged comment while investigating the footage. At this time, police claimed that there is no active investigation. Charges have also not been filed.
