Sheinelle Jones is making another huge life change. She revealed on the news program that she’s in the process of moving with her kids to a new home. The Today host discovered a lost keepsake while packing. She got emotional while discussing the meaningful keepsake. Keep reading for all the details.
Sheinelle Jones Reveals She’s Moving
Sheinelle Jones moved with her family from Philadelphia to New York City after joining the Today Show. Her husband, Uche Ojeh, supported her career aspirations since they met in college years ago. She took a leave of absence from the morning program in late 2024 to care for her husband after he was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer.

Her husband passed away in May 2025 at the age of 45. He left behind three children – Kayin, Clara, and Uche Jr. Now, a year after his death, the heartbroken family is moving out of the home they shared. Sheinelle Jones didn’t reveal where she’s moving or why. But she told Jenna Bush Hager, “So, I’m moving. The kids are going to a new school, so we’re moving. And I have been going through boxes and boxes and boxes in our basement.”
Her co-host sympathized with the stress of moving. “They say moving is one of the three most stressful [things]. But I think it’s a good thing,” Jenna Bush Hager said. She added, “My mom [Laura Bush] said that to me once when I was moving, and I was so stressed. She said, ‘It’s one of life’s most stressful things, so you know that. So then, you just lower your expectations. You know it’s going to be tricky.’”
Sheinelle Jones thanked her co-host for the encouragement and revealed an unexpected discovery in the basement.
Today Host Discovers Lost Keepsake While Packing
Sheinelle Jones said on the May 14 episode of Jenna & Sheinelle that she was going through “boxes and boxes” of her belongings in the basement. However, she found a lost keepsake in a surprising location.
“I found this old suitcase, and I unzipped it, and it was my wedding dress,” she revealed. “And I remember everybody telling me that you’re supposed to get them preserved, and I didn’t. I remember, Uche and I took pictures all over the streets of Philadelphia, so the bottom of it is like [dirty]. It’s like that from the bottom.”

Sheinelle Jones and Uche Ojeh married in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2007. They were married for 17 years until his tragic death. The Today host admitted that finding her wedding dress takes on new meaning since losing her husband.
She said, “So now, obviously, I see it differently, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my goodness. I never had it preserved. Do they do that? Is it too late?’”
Jenna Bush Hager Offers To Help ‘Ruthless’ Declutter
Jenna Bush Hager related to Sheinelle Jones losing her wedding dress. She revealed that she lost her own after marrying Henry Hager in 2008. Luckily, Laura Bush had it in her possession. However, when Jenna Bush Hager tried it on for her seventh wedding anniversary, it no longer fit.
Sheinelle Jones revealed that she’s discovered many other keepsakes while packing, but was having trouble deciding what to keep and what to throw out. She joked that she might start posting the items on social media and let viewers decide what to keep and what to toss.
Jenna Bush Hager offered to help. “I’ll also come over and get ruthless with you,” she suggested. Do you know where your wedding dress is? Let us know in the comments.
