Kirsten Storms Had Been Bringing Maxie Jones To Life For Over A Decade On General Hospital
Storms joined the cast of General Hospital in 2005 as Maxie Jones, taking over for Robyn Richards, who exited the soap the previous year. This followed her run on Days of Our Lives playing legacy character Belle Black.
Storms would continue playing the role off and on throughout the ensuing years. In 2011, she would leave due to an extended medical leave, with actress Jen Lilley filling in for Maxie. However, Storms would ultimately return the following year.
Last year, Storms revealed that she had moved her family to Tennessee and had already filmed her final episodes of the year. At the time, however, she expressed an interest in returning to Port Charles in the future, although she needed a reset.
Earlier this year, Storms revealed that she had returned to filming. During this time, Maxie’s late husband Nathan West returned from his apparent death. However, this ultimately turned out to be his identical twin brother, Cassius Faison, who had taken over his identity.
A Few Characters Have Lately Been Talking About Maxie In Port Charles
Following this return, Storms shared on social media that she would once again be leaving the soap, sharing incidents involving an alleged stalker. As noted by Parade, she shared, “Given what’s been going on, I can’t say that I feel comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work. This has been an eye-opening experience about the downside of my profession.”
At this time, Maxie was last seen onscreen back in March. Thanks to this, fans have been wondering what will happen to Maxie on the soap. Recently, however, fans were given a development about the character’s life on General Hospital.
During the July 23 episode, Jane Elliot’s character shared that Maxie had divested all of her stock in Deception, the company she worked at with the Quartermaine family. Meanwhile, Cody revealed to his girlfriend, Molly, that Maxie’s ex, Spinelli, accepted a new job. This development means that Maxie and her kids will be moving with him to Australia.
For the time being, it appears that the door is still open for the character to return one day. After all, anything could happen in a soap. However, fans will have to keep watching to see what happens next.
