Kelly Clarkson is breaking away from expectations about her love life.
The “Breakaway” singer shared insight into the relatable reason why she’s satisfied with being single at this point in her life.
“People are like, ‘Oh, why are you single?’ And I’m like, ‘First of all, there are a lot of people out here making single look real good,’” Clarkson said during her Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace July 24, according to footage shot by @jpasc24. “And if you didn’t really understand what I meant by that, it’s like you see relationships and you’re like, ‘I am so glad I’m going home alone.’”
Indeed, there’s nothing but peace behind her hazel eyes.
“You know what’s not happening in my house?” she continued. “That s–t.”
And as Clarkson—mom to River, 12, and Remington, 10, with late ex-husband Brandon Blackstock—takes time to catch her breath outside of the dating pool, she reflected on the most difficult aspect of maintaining the spark in her romantic connections.
“If you are in a relationship, the hardest part is just keeping that fire alive and still dating,” she added, “and like still making it feel magical and not monotonous.”
