Fans of The Voice recently learned that the show is going to see a big change, which includes Carson Daly’s role on the show. Since then, he has opened up about the situation. Thanks to this, he’s already sparked a few reactions from fans, as well as one Today co-star in particular.
Carson Daly Recently Opened Up About Changes Happening On The Voice With Its New Season
Throughout his career, Daly has worked with a number of shows. Many first knew him as a VJ on MTV’s Total Request Live from 1998 to 2003. Added to this, in 2002, he joined NBC, eventually becoming a co-host on Today.
In 2011, it was announced that Daly would become a host and producer for NBC’s reality series, The Voice. In his producer role, he’s even won four Emmy Awards.

However, it was recently announced that the thirtieth season of The Voice would see Daly stepping away from his usual spot on the show. Actress and media personality Keke Palmer will be taking over the role. Meanwhile, Queen Latifah, Riley Green, and Joe Jonas will coach the new contestants. This season will see a new spin-off format, The Voice Celebrity, which will see actors, athletes, influencers, and other celebs as contestants.
Daly recently opened up about this change, explaining that he felt that he didn’t think he’d be a good fit for the new season. Taking to Instagram, “I have been talking about it on @todayshow for a while now. I am not the right host for it.”
Despite this, Daly had nothing but praise for Palmer. As he shared, “We have a NEW amazing HOST! The triple threat queen @keke who is PERFECT for it! I’m so grateful she carved out the time in her busy career to help us out. We’re all big fans & welcome her to the family.”
One Of Daly’s Co-Workers Shared That He Was The ‘Heart’ Of The Show
Daly also assured fans that this isn’t necessarily the end of his time with the show. As he explained, “Many today have asked if I’m leaving the show. Nope.” He continued, “We’re gonna try out these 2 formats this fall/spring & see how it goes! Hopefully this post clears up any confusion. I am still hosting the show currently.” Even if fans didn’t see him on camera, he added, “I’ll be producing Celeb Voice only & helping it launch from behind the scenes.”
With the post, Daly received a number of positive comments from fans and followers. Of course, he even got responses from people very close to him in his line of work. His Today co-star Savannah Guthrie even shared, “The best of the best – and the [heart] of it all.”

Guthrie is known for supporting Daly in the past. As previously reported, she visited him on the set of The Voice earlier this year.
Taking to the comments, other fans were happy to see that Daly is still staying with The Voice. Others shared what they would like to see next on the show. Some comments included:
- “Oh, thank goodness you are not leaving The Voice…. That IS your format for sure. Can’t see anyone else filling your shoes.”
- “Was very confused! Glad to know you’ll still be on there.”
- “Soooo glad you are staying on the regular voice!!!!”
- “I hope the regular show isn’t gone for good for a celebrity version. I don’t want celebrities taking these opportunities from serious artists and musicians.”
