As she worked as an executive producer on the upcoming documentary Cycle of Love, the story of P. K. Mahanandia and Lotta Von Schedvin—whose children Emelie Mahanandia Von Schedvin and Karl Mahanandia Von Schedvin are also producers on the project—became a constant reminder of that key.
After all, Mahanandia, a Delhi street artist from a Dalit family, traveled 6,000 miles across multiple countries on a bicycle at just 23 years old in 1977 to find the Swedish woman he believed he was destined to marry.
He knew that Von Schedvin was meant to be his future wife after finding out that she matched all the characteristics of his soulmate, which he had learned through an astrological reading given when he was a baby.
“Now they’ve been married for 50 years, and their kids are producing this movie with me,” Chopra said. “Everything about it is so heartwarming, and just makes me feel like, in this crazy world right now, it’s this ray of sunshine.”
