Giada De Laurentiis Is Known To Many For Her Work With The Food Network
De Laurentiis became known to many for hosting her own Food Network cooking show, Giada at Home, from 2008 to 2015. Exiting the network in 2023, she later moved on to working with Amazon Studios. In addition, she is also known for appearing as a contributor on Today.
Recently, De Laurentiis joined the competition series, Dancing with the Stars. Viewers can expect her to make her debut with the Season 35 premiere, which will air on September 15, 2026. She will be paired with pro dancer Alan Bersten.
In a recent Instagram video, Giada spoke with Decider about what inspired her to join the series. The Food Network star shared a very personal reason: “You know, my daughter inspired me to do it.”
De Laurentiis continued, “I think, you know, dropping her off in college and now being an empty nester and really wanting to do something completely out of my comfort zone—she was like, ‘You need to do this. I’m going to go do my thing. I think you need an adventure of your own. Something that really will push you.’ And I found it.”

This isn’t the first time Giada’s daughter Jade served as a source of inspiration for her mother. Speaking with Good Housekeeping, Giada previously shared, “What people don’t know is that I’m actually a shy person.”
However, Giada felt that her daughter helped her get out of her comfort zone. She explained, “I find that my daughter has been so helpful in pushing the boundaries for me and making me take more risks in a way that I don’t think I ever would have before. If she wasn’t around, I may have ended my career a long time ago.”
Giada has also included her daughter in social media shares as she details her journey to Dancing with the Stars. In one tongue-in-cheek video, she showed Jade meeting her mother’s dance partner, Alan Bersten. As Giada teased, he needed to be approved by her daughter before joining the show.
