Love After Lockup is back with another spinoff, Relationship Rehab, featuring five couples from the series. The hope is that they can fix their drama or end their relationships, whatever state they are in. One prominent couple is Michael ‘Montana Millz’ and Justine Persaud, but off camera, they are mourning a heartbreaking death. Keep reading for more details.
Justine & Michael Have A Lot On Their Plate
Love After Lockup viewers have seen Michael and Justine Persaud deal with a lot. They wanted to move while he was newly free from prison. Then, he had his music career he was jumping back into, but his manager thought that him being a married man was not a good look. Plus, Michael had four children while Justine had three, so they had to make it mesh. On top of that, Justine found out she was pregnant; they had outside stressors, and it was a lot. It seemed like they were making it work, and then baby number 9 was on the way.
Now, they are on Relationship Rehab, as so much is going on and they need some checking in. However, off-camera, they have just experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Michael’s younger sister, Izzy, died at just 15. This happened in September, but she was laid to rest on October 2nd. Justine shared the news via social media, along with some sweet snaps of her:
- With heavy hearts we put my sister in law, our sweet Izzy to rest today. Please watch over your brother and the babies. You will be forever in our thoughts and prayers fly high sweetheart.
A GoFundMe was started to help with funeral expenses, and the goal was $25K. It exceeded that, which is beautiful to see. Per her obituary:
“She was a cherished sister to Morelis, Laila, Michael, Anne, Kimberly, and Shazeena. As the youngest on both sides of her family, Izzy grew up surrounded by love and would always be the baby of the family.”
The Love After Lockup stars had a family connection from the start. Justine met Michael through his mother as they were co-workers.
A Tough Season
Whatever Justine and Michael will go through on this season of Love After Lockup: Relationship Rehab is nothing compared to the heartbreak of losing Izzy. Hopefully, Dr. Ish has given them the tools to navigate this devastation or is still on call for moments like this. They are joined by Brittany & Marcelino, Melissa & Louie, Alexis & Julius, and Kimberly & Joey.
This should be a very interesting season, but our thoughts and prayers are with Justine and Michael through the loss of Izzy.
