Epix has unveiled the full trailer for Billy the Kid.

The upcoming eight-episode series is described as an epic romantic adventure based on the life of the infamous American outlaw, Billy the Kid (played by Tom Blyth). In history, Billy was also known by some as William H. Bonney, going by different aliases through his adventures in the wild west.

As teased in the full trailer, below, Billy the Kid tracks his story beginning with humble Irish roots and ranging to his early days as a cowboy and gunslinger in the American frontier, and his pivotal role in the Lincoln County War among other moments. Forced to cope with an unforgiving environment, Billy makes life-changing decisions at the first sign of trouble.

In the trailer, he’s told in his youth and young adulthood to stay out of situations that don’t “matter,” but this guy has ideas of his own as he says, “it matters to me.” Joining Blyth in the series is Daniel Webber who plays Jesse Evans, another famous outlaw, and leader of the Seven Rivers Gang.

When they meet, Jesse has already embraced a life of crime that involves robbing stores and cattle rustling, which attracts Billy, ultimately leading him to a darker side. Billy the Kid is executive produced by Michael Hirst, Donald De Line, Darryl FRank, Justin Falvey, Otto Bathurst, and Toby Leslie. The show is a co-production between Epix Studios and MGM International Television Productions in association with Viaplay.
