The anime’s premiere will happen on June 30, 2022, and will take place at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas as part of RTX’s FIRST Night celebration. Those looking to check out the premiere can do so by picking up badges for RTX, which also allows access to the FIRST Night events, although Ultra and Platinum badge holders will be given priority access. For Rooster Teeth, this also marks a huge accomplishment, as it is the nine-year anniversary of RWBY debuting in Austin at RTX.

Following its premiere in Austin, RWBY: Ice Queendom will air on Japanese television on July 3, 2022, before becoming available on the same day to U.S. audiences via the Crunchyroll and Rooster Teeth FIRST streaming platforms.

“RWBY: Ice Queendom presents RWBY in beautiful 2D anime visuals,” reads the official synopsis. “RWBY imagines a world filled with horrific monsters bent on death and destruction, and humanity’s only hope is dependent upon powerful Huntsmen and Huntresses. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long are four such Huntresses in training whose journeys will take them far past the grounds of their school, Beacon Academy. Though each may be powerful on their own, these four girls must overcome dark forces and work as a team if they truly hope to become the next generation of Remnant’s protectors.”
