Toronto’s fashion scene continues to heat up. The evidence? Fashion Art Toronto (FAT) announced this week that it will host a Fall 2022 showcase — an unexpected second event for the organization this year. Set within the historic Parkdale Hall from November 10 to 13, an all-encompassing style experience will feature red-carpet moments, runways and social spaces, all while spotlighting 30 Canadian designers.

“Canada is home to a dynamic, creative designer community and we are excited to provide our inclusive platform for a second time this year,” said Vanja Vasic, founder and executive director of FAT. “We look forward to welcoming all fashion lovers to FAT this November.” Don’t miss out: Opening night will feature highly anticipated shows from designers Lesley Hampton and Hendrixroe. Fashion Kills, Demaine Tyrone, Fugnitto, Ao Dai Canada and more will also present this season.

Nothing rings in the holiday season quite like a downtown shopping excursion. And to make your trip even better, Canadian designer Hilary MacMillan’s Bloor Street pop-up will remain open until December 31. Peruse the brand’s newly launched Fall 2022 collection as well as the super nostalgic and interactive Barbie closet, plus enjoy various surprise activations that will appear over the next few months.

Smythe’s holiday collection is a tailored dreamscape

Hometown hero Smythe knows how to bring the vibes. With its assortment of shimmery fabrics, colourful sequins, boxy blazers and pinstripe vests, the holiday collection has everything you need to tackle a very social (finally!) festive season. Fuzzy knits and cozy coats round off the launch to ensure that you won’t have to choose between style and warmth.

MCM’s Canadian presence is growing, thanks to its newest Toronto retail location in Yorkdale Shopping Centre. The boutique will not only house the German label’s leather goods and RTW, but will also be an immersive design experience from the moment customers enter the space. It’s the epitome of luxury and opulence.

Sustainable outerwear brand Wuxly has announced a collection made in collaboration with rockstar Bryan Adams. The limited-edition BAD Collection, inspired by his recently released song “Kick Ass,” consists of three pieces: a hoodie, a parka (for up to -25 degrees celsius) and a lightweight, water-repellent jacket. What makes Adams such a great fit for Wuxly? The Canadian music legend shares the same values and dedication to protecting the planet and its animals — something we can all make a priority.
