Cool Collab
The pop singer previously appeared in her music video for the original song
SZA has released a new version of her single “Snooze,” which features Justin Bieber. The track, “Snooze (Acoustic),” was produced by Carter Lang and comes after Bieber made a surprise cameo in SZA’s music video for the original song last month.
This rendition sees the pair stripping the song back, with Bieber joining in on vocals. SZA previously teased the collaboration on social media, causing fans to speculate on who would appear in her “Snooze” video.
“Snooze” comes off SZA’s sophomore studio album SOS, which arrived in December. The original song features lyrics by SZA and was co-written/produced by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, The Rascals, and BLK. The single has become a breakout hit from the LP and was shouted out by Barack Obama on his 2023 Summer Playlist.
SZA appeared on the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast shortly after the release of SOS to discuss the inspiration behind the album and the strong response to her new music.
“I think this album was partially inspired by love lost, but mostly inspired by my departure from attempting to be a nice girl,” she told Rolling Stone. “I’ve tried to be a nice girl for so long and it’s just not who I am, inherently. And I think I’ve done nice things and I am a kind person, but I’m not a nice girl. And that’s okay. And I think coming to terms with that and really expanding upon that and exploring that is kind of like this new chapter in my life.”
