‘Clock Tower: Rewind’ Coming to PlayStation, Switch on October 31 [Trailer]

It would only be fitting if Sunsoft and WayForward’s Clock Tower: Rewind would get an October release. And for PlayStation and Switch users, that appears to be the case. Per the Japanese PR firm PR Times (thanks, Gematsu!), Sunsoft revealed that the remake of the 1995 classic will launch digitally and physically for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on October 31. PC and Xbox launch dates were not announced.

The release date reveal was also accompanied by a new gameplay trailer.

In Japan, the digital edition of Clock Tower: Rewind will be priced at 3,300 yen (approximately $22.79 USD), while the physical standard and Deluxe editions will also be available for 4,980 yen ($34.39 USD) and 7,480 yen ($51.66 USD) respectively for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. North American fans had their (now sold out) pre-orders available back in May, courtesy of Limited Run Games.

While obviously these are the Japanese launch dates, it’s safe to assume that the North American release will be around this same time. It’s also safe to assume that the Xbox and Steam versions will also be launching at that time.

Meanwhile, Clock Tower: Rewind will be making an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show this year at the Happinet booth. The event runs from September 26 to 29 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.

Translated and released outside of Japan for the first time, Clock Tower: Rewind is a revival of the terror-inducing 16-bit classic that dares you to explore the haunting confines of the Barrows family manor. As teenage orphan Jennifer, you must search every disturbing corner to find items, reveal secrets, and discover ways to evade Scissorman, a murderous, unstoppable, shears-wielding psychopath.

Play original mode to experience Clock Tower as it was when initially released in 1995 for the Super Famicom, or play the enhanced mode with extra content and improvements. Additional features include a new animated intro, opening and ending vocal theme songs, motion-comic cutscenes, creator interview, art gallery, border artwork, save states, and a music player. The clock is ticking…can you survive?

In addition to the PlayStation and Switch, Clock Tower: Rewind will be available for the Xbox Series and PC via Steam.
