A month after giving fans a taste of the final game, indie developer Steelkrill Studio has announced that their toddler horror game Baby Blues Nightmares will arrive on Steam on September 16 for $12.99. The demo is still available for those wanting to check out the game’s unique setting and mechanics.
Baby Blues Nightmares cast you as a toddler who wakes up to the sound of their parents arguing. You also discover that your beloved dolls, once sleeping beside you, have mysteriously vanished. You set off to find said dolls, which takes you a dark and eerie childcare centre along the way. With you is your trusty tricycle, which you can paint and personalise before exploring the desolate halls of your childcare centre. However, lurking in the shadows is the terrifying monster known as Red Belly, and you’ll need to use your wits and quick reflexes to evade it as you search for your missing treasures.
Unfolding over the course of five chapters, you must take advantage of your small size to crawl through vents and evade Red Belly. Roaming around the eerie childcare centre, you can leave crayon drawings on walls as an aid. If anything scary happens, you will cry and it will attract Red Belly, so you have to be careful to always find candy to calm you. You’ll also have to deal with your hunger level, which can be sated by finding food.
