Fortnitemares 2024 in ‘Fortnite’ on Now, Featuring Leatherface and Billy the Puppet [Trailer]

After the tease last week, Epic Games has pulled back the curtain on Fortnitemares 2024 for Fortnite, bringing not only Leatherface and Billy the Puppet into the fray, but also the likes of Edward Scissorhands, Jack Skellington and other season-appropriate Disney properties. This year’s Fortnitemares will run until the end of Chapter 5 Season 4.

Saw is the big focus this year for Fortnitemares. Along with a Billy the Puppet outfit, there’s also Boom Billy, an explosive mini-Billy the Puppet that’ll homes in on the nearest opponent, including you! If you are the unfortunate player, you’ll need to outrun it so that it detonates. Boom Billys can be found on the ground or in Chests. Or, you can get one from defeating the real Billy the Puppet at Freaky Fields.

Then there’s Jigsaw’s Challenge, which is a game within a game. Scattered across the Island are Billy the Puppets displayed on TV monitors waiting for passers-by. Approach a monitor and Jigsaw will challenge you to duel a player who accepts from another monitor. Both players will then don a Billy-inspired bear mask, which just so happens to also be explosive. If you or your squad don’t eliminate your target in time, the mask will explode and you’ll be eliminated. If you or your squad does eliminate the target, you and your squad will be rewarded with a Boom Billy, the unvaulted Witch Broom, and other loot.

As for Leatherface, along with getting his outfit (or skin, if you prefer), players can utilize his trademark chainsaw to hack their way through foes, or rev it into the ground to propel themselves forward at frightening speeds.

As for the rest of the outfits, players can nab Sally and the Pumpkin King from The Nightmare Before Christmas (Jack Skellington was part of last year’s Fortnitemares event), Marvel’s Mephisto, She-Venom and Agony, as well as Disney villains Maleficent, Captain Hook, and Cruella de Vil.
