Angela Aguilar, Arthur Hanlon Drop ‘Bala Perdida’: WATCH

“Ángela’s technique is flawless, and from the moment we recorded, the chemistry was undeniable,” said the pianist

Arthur Hanlon and Ángela Aguilar are adding a piano spin to a classic huapango. On Thursday, the pianist and Mexican singer collaborated on “Bala Perdida,” a haunting genre-bending song on which Aguilar’s vocals shine.

“I love playing with contrasts on the piano, and ‘Bala Perdida’ embodies that,” said Hanlon in a press release. “It’s built on huapango, a Mexican rhythm I admire: it has elegance, soul, and raw emotion. Ángela’s technique is flawless, and from the moment we recorded, the chemistry was undeniable.”

The duo — who met at Billboard’s Latin Women in Music event last June — also released a video for the track, which sees Hanlon performing his grand piano in the middle of the desert as Aguilar joins him to sing the heartbreak lyrics by his side.

Hanlon and Aguilar are set to perform the collaboration during Premio Lo Nuestro on Thursday night. The track will also be featured on Hanlon’s upcoming album, featuring collaborations with numerous artists in April.

“This is a masterful piece, and I’m so proud to be part of it. It’s an homage to the great songs — songs with deep music and lyrics,” added Aguilar. “My dad always says there are only two genres: good and bad. And this one is very, very good.”

The new Aguilar collab follows Hanlon’s track with Ana Bárbara, “Egoísta” in November, and “Repetimos” with Yotuel and Darrell in September. For her part, Aguilar opened 2025 with a banda duet with Yuri on her hit “Maldita Primavera,” after dropping “Abrázame” with Felipe Botello y El Sonoro Rugir last August.
