Ahead of the release of Mortal Kombat II in theaters on May 15, 2026, writer Jeremy Slater (“The Exorcist,” “Moon Knight”) has announced at New York Comic Con today that Warner Bros. has already hired him to start writing the screenplay for Mortal Kombat III!
Slater announced at NYCC, “Our friends at New Line and Warner Bros. are so happy with [Mortal Kombat II], they are so excited, they are so convinced that there is a giant fanbase waiting for it, that they have already hired me to start writing the next installment.”
