Indeed, “The Life of a Showgirl” singer’s mom—who shares Taylor, as well as Austin Swift, 33, with Scott Swift—revealed she is the one who pulled some strings to coordinate her daughter’s meet cute with the Kansas City Chiefs player.
“I was looking at the headlines,” Andrea explained to Taylor during the fifth episode of The Eras Tour: End of an Era documentary released Dec. 19. “Perusing around what’s on the internet, I see that this guy came to your show and he brought a friendship bracelet and wants to meet you.”
The 67-year-old—who has a notoriously close bond with her daughter—admitted she vetted Travis thoroughly before bringing the news to Taylor.
“I called up my resident expert on the Kansas City Chiefs, my cousin Robin and I go, ‘Tell me about this guy Travis Kelce,’” Andrea continued. “She goes, ‘Oh my gosh! He’s the nicest guy, and you know what? He really loves his mom.’ I went, ‘Ding, ding, ding.’”
