Jelly Roll Fans ‘Turn Their Back’ On Singer After Trump Jokes

.Country singer Jelly Roll shot to stardom a few years ago after decades as a struggling musician waiting for his big break. His backstory as a former felon who embraced God resonated with listeners. But now he’s found himself in hot water with fans. His divorce from Bunnie Xo already put him in the hot seat. Then he made several jokes at President Trump’s expense. The “Save Me” singer’s fans have reportedly turned their backs on him in protest. Keep reading for all the details.

Jelly Roll Makes Shocking Jokes About President Trump

Jelly Roll spent years in prison on drug charges. He found God while incarcerated and openly sang about his faith in several hit songs. The singer also made headlines for losing 300 pounds over the last few years through diet change and exercise. He began his weight loss journey before Ozempic became common.

After announcing that he was stepping back from touring, Jelly Roll took on the role of late-night talk show host. He filled in while Jimmy Kimmel was on summer vacation. Jimmy Kimmel is a huge enemy of President Trump. Viewers were shocked when Jelly Roll took several shots at Trump during the opening monologue on his first night as host.

“From one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important. Trust me, you’ll be happy to see your penis again,” he advised the President. Jelly Roll happily met President Trump at a UFC fight in 2024 and many assumed he was MAGA. However, his jokes seemed to hint otherwise.

Jelly Roll addressed the backlash on his last night of hosting. “I lean left on some things. But like most folks, I’m pretty down the middle. I am a Christian,” he said about his political leanings. However, by then the damage had already been done.

Fans ‘Turn Their Back’ On Singer After Trump Jokes

Jelly Roll reportedly lost nearly a million social media followers after his jokes on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Enraged fans left comments on the YouTube clips expressing their anger and surprise at his anti-Trump jokes.

    • “When did Jelly flip on Trump? I thought he was 100% MAGA”
    • He blows with the wind accepting anything that might give him a bigger platform to boost his career. He’s a fraud”
    • “This guy kind of risked his career to tell these jokes. He’s alienating a lot of country fans. I hope it works out for him”
    • “Never like this guy never liked his music. I wonder how being two-faced it’s gonna work out for him with his fans”
    • “It’s too bad that Jelly Roll ran his mouth the way that he did. I was a big fan. His career will plummet”

But according to a country music legend, Jelly Roll knew the risks he was taking and made the jokes anyway. John Rich from Big & Rich competed on Celebrity Apprentice in 2011 and has been an outspoken Trump supporter. He joined the Trump administration in the role of Special Envoy for American Landowners earlier this year.

“When you make statements that are that hardcore and to a large extent counteractive to the presentation you’ve been making, you do understand in country music that half or more of your audience may disown you,” John Rich told Benny Johnson on The Benny Show.

“They may turn their back on you. They may stop listening to you… But you make the statement anyway,” the “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” singer said.

John Rich also said that Jelly Roll wouldn’t be in trouble with fans if he had been open about his political beliefs earlier. Share your thoughts on Jelly Roll’s fans deserting him amid his jokes about President Trump.
