Fox News’ Jesse Watters Dragged After Recent Iran Comments

Through his work with Fox News, Jesse Watters has weighed in on a number of current events. Recently, during one of his shows, he weighed in on recent developments in the Middle East. Since then, commenters have been sharing their reactions to the story.

Jesse Watters Started Hosting His Primetime Show On Fox News Back In 2022

Watters is known to many through his Fox News programs. Early in his career, he hosted his own segment, “Watters’ World,” on The O’Reilly Factor.

Back in 2022, Watters also became the host of his own namesake program, Jesse Watters Primetime, for the network. He is also known for being a moderator on The Five.

During a recent broadcast of Jesse Watters Primetime, the host boasted about President Donald Trump’s handling of the conflict concerning Iran. Earlier this month, U.S. Central Command confirmed that there had been military strikes against the country’s crude oil tankers off the coast of Kharg Island.

On his namesake show, Watters boasted about the program’s “crippling strikes.” He also described a “beatdown in the region.” As he shared, “Fox News alert! U.S. CENTCOM unleashes crippling strikes near Kharg Island, and wow!”

Watters’ Comments Sparked Mixed Reactions On Social Media, With Some Blasting The Claims While Others Defended The Fox News Host

As the segment came to a close, Watters concluded, “CENTCOM forces smoked five Iranian tankers! After they tried and failed to hit our carrier and warship! The IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) suffered another beatdown at the hands of the U.S. military.”

This also comes out after the IRGC previously announced that it had targeted three U.S.-linked oil tankers in the Persian Gulf. Following this, the country also warned that it would expand naval warfare activities if the U.S. blockade continues.

As noted by The Daily U.S. Express, many took to social media to react to Watters’ comments. Many expressed that it was too early to make such comments, when there didn’t seem to be a clear end to the war.

However, there were others who came to Watters’ defense or agreed with his sentiments. Some comments included:

    • “When are President Trump and his advisers going to wake up? The IRGC will never surrender! Cripple strikes? Based on what?”
    • “Nothing is more crippling than what Iran has proven to the world, and that is the U.S. cannot protect you!”
    • “Crippling? Based on what? Nothing we have done has fully stopped Iran from attacking us or our allies. Yes, maybe with smaller salvos but they still have the ability to destroy key oil, power and water infrastructure of all their neighbors.”
    • “Trump is going to take out the IRGC, which is going to bring peace to the world we have not seen in our lifetime.”
    • “The USA is the country of courageous and decent men and women Many people seem to forget the atrocities perpetrated by other leaders. Freedom comes at an unimaginable cost. Fortunately, we have learned lessons and stand to help others.”
