James Blake updated Friends That Break Your Heart album cut “Funeral” with a feature from U.K. rapper Slowthai and a very morose music video. The duo play into the melancholy of the song’s metaphoric theme of attending your own wake — while begging to not be forgotten — with black-and-white aerial footage of a funeral procession. For the new version of the track, Blake sacrifices his original second verse, where he laments “I would livе in the leaves that crunch undеr your feet/I wanna be heard if I can’t be seen” for a hyper-specific list of comparisons from Slowthai. “I…

Caaaaandy Caaaaaane. September was all over the map, with episodes on influential slow burn It Follows, A Nightmare on Elm Street‘s wacky “final” entry Freddy’s Dead, David Lynch’s surreal LA satire Mulholland Drive, and classic lesbian vampire film Dracula’s Daughter. In the film, estranged brothers Lewis (Paul Walker) and Fuller (Steve Zahn) pull what they believe is a harmless prank on Rusty Nail, a lonely truck driver (voiced by Ted Levine). But what begins as a joke becomes something…

As far as blockbusters go, Venom: Let There Be Carnage and The Matrix Resurrections are pretty different from one another. One follows a man bonded to an alien symbiote fighting a serial killer bonded to said symbiote’s offspring, and the other takes audiences back to the crazy digital world last visited in a cinematic setting in the early 2000s. Interestingly enough though, these movies shot in the same city at the same time, and for Venom 2, having The Matrix 4 as its “neighbor” was both detrimental and beneficial. On the negative end of the spectrum, Venom: Let There Be Carnage…
