THAT’S ONE BIG BOOK:

The Stark Museum of Art in Orange, Texas proudly presents the largest published book certified by Guinness World Records. The 400-page I Am Texas stands 7 feet tall, spanning 11 feet when opened, and weighs a staggering 496 pounds. It features the voices of 1,000 Texas school kids, accompanied by stories, poetry, and artwork.

SOUTHERN GOTHIC AT ITS FINEST:

Shawn “S.A.” Cosby, a rising star in the literary world, reflected on his remarkable journey from obscurity to bestsellerdom with his fourth novel, All the Sinners Bleed. The book explores themes of organized religion, family secrets, child abuse, racism, and white supremacy, all intertwined with a chilling serial killer plot.

DAME JUDITH DENCH AND THE BARD:

Judith Dench is set to delve into the world of William Shakespeare in an upcoming book of conversations with actor and director Brendan O’Hea, titled Shakespeare: The Man Who Pays the Rent. Published by St. Martin’s Press, the book, scheduled for next April, is described as Dench’s heartfelt homage to the iconic playwright. Dench’s association with Shakespeare dates back to her first professional stage role as Ophelia in Hamlet in 1957, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey. Collaborating with O’Hea, Dench offers readers a glimpse into her rehearsal process, triumphs, mishaps, and behind-the-scenes antics.

‘ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE’ TRAILER:

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for the highly anticipated limited-series adaptation of Anthony Doerr’s literary masterpiece, All the Light We Cannot See. This critically acclaimed 2014 novel, a recipient of both the Pulitzer Prize and the Andrew Carnegie Medal, immerses us in the gripping tale of Marie-Laure, a blind girl navigating wartime France, and Werner, a German soldier entwined with her through radio transmissions. The stellar ensemble cast includes Mark Ruffalo, Hugh Laurie, Lars Eidinger, and Marion Bailey. Check out the trailer:

TAKING THE SPY WORLD BY STORM:

You’ll want to order a double shot of William Maz’s latest release, The Bucharest Legacy if you enjoy a perfect blend of conflicted heroes, nuance, exotic settings, and action. This well-crafted tale brings the dramatic, slow burn of a John le Carré novel and plenty of spy games to the troubled nation of Romania in the years after the fall of the Soviet Union when a brutal, corrupt form of capitalism and faux democracy emerged.

‘A GOOD GIRL’S GUIDE TO MURDER’ CAST ITS LEAD:

Emma Myers secured the lead role in the television adaptation of Holly Jackson’s young adult mystery trilogy, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Myers, renowned for her role in the Netflix series Wednesday, embodies the resilient Pip in the BBC-developed series, joined by newcomer Zain Iqbal. With Dolly Wells directing and Poppy Cogan as the lead writer, the series promises to be a compelling visual rendition of Jackson’s gripping narrative.

CAMPERS BEWARE:

Kalynn Baron, the young adult author known for captivating readers with fantasy worlds and relatable characters, has ventured into the horror genre with her latest novel, You’re Not Supposed to Die Tonight. Set at Camp Mirror, a haven for horror movie enthusiasts, the story follows Charity Curtis, a girl immersed in the role of the “final girl.” As secrets and disappearances plague the camp, Charity and her girlfriend Bezi must confront dark revelations that may put their lives at stake. With nods to 80s slasher films, this thrilling rollercoaster of a book guarantees shocking twists and nostalgic scares for fans of classic horror.
