Hell’s Warrior by Elle Rosse

“Liam Dark has a lot of nicknames. The devil, Satan, Prince of Darkness. That happens when your father is the Devil, and when you’re an immortal demon and the current ruler of rightful duties in Hell.”

It’s the kind of introduction that you simply can’t ignore. The first of the Dark Hell trilogy, Hell’s Warrior by Elle Rosse pulls readers into the narrative with an enticing blend of romance and the paranormal. Jumping from the lascivious streets of L.A. to the subterranean world of Cornethius, Rosse creates a story that’s as alluring as it is mysterious.

Check out our Q&A below to hear about Elle Rosse, her favorite aspects of storytelling and how she goes about crafting her tales.

Q: You have said your passion is writing romantic stories that dive deep into your characters’ facade and peak into their dark spaces, their warped motives and their innermost desires. Where and how did you develop the desire to write books of this genre?

A: Because I am a fan of this genre as well. For me, writing is easier when it is something you already enjoy reading yourself. I love paranormal because they take the reader on a remarkable journey in a make-believe world.

Q: Where did you come up with the idea for the storyline of Hell’s Warrior?

A: Hell’s Warrior initially started out as a novella to briefly give a back story for Liam Dark before diving into Book 2 Hell’s Guardian. I started writing it, then soon realized how much I enjoyed his character. So, I decided to give him his own book. I felt his story was worth telling a full novel for. He is going through so much internally not to mention a war brewing. I wanted to fully get at the heart of his struggles and how he overcame them. Ultimately, Liam had his own story to tell, and he used me to bring it to life.

Q: What separates your work from other paranormal romance novels and makes it unique?

A: Wow, this is difficult to answer. I think there is a lot of great stories out there written by great authors. When writing I like to try and pull my characters from a place of despair into a world of their own and how they pulled through to accomplish greatness.

Q: Where do your characters come from? Was there any particular model or inspiration behind them?

A: Not really. My characters are all kept cozy in my head. I can watch a small snippet of a movie or hear a piece of music and ideas just start coming to me. When I can’t seem to get a story out of my head, it’s then that I know it’s ready to come to life. My male characters are strong alpha men, whereas my female characters are filled with compassion and empathy. A duo not likely to come together.

Q: Your website issues a “warning” before entering. Is this because your books are not for everyone but only a certain type of reader? How would you define your audience?

A: No, it’s just a word not to be taken literally. It’s mostly warning the reader they about to embark on an amazing journey… ARE YOU READY FOR THIS JOURNEY kind of warning. If one is into reading romance, they will like my books. I write both contemporary and paranormal romance novels.

Q: What parts of your books are the most fun to write?

A: Character development is one of my favorites, aside from that I love giving my novels an extravagant spin. Things happening that the reader doesn’t expect. That level of “OMG.”

Q: What’s the one thing you would tell readers to put them over the top and guarantee that they would buy your book?

A: If you are looking for a story about an alpha male who is going through obstacles and overcomes them, deception, murder, and war you are going to enjoy Hell’s Warrior. I will let you in on a little secret … Ssshhhh … there’s also King Author’s sword and a dragon. Oh, my …
