Interview with Bianca Cole, Author of Pride

master mentalism tricks

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Pride?

I have always loved Pride & Prejudice. It’s one of my all-time favorite books and I love the movie too. So, I gained inspiration from that book to write a dark mafia romance based on the original story.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Pride, what would they be?

If I had to pick a song for Isiah, it would be Watch me burn by Michele Morrone. And for Bella, it would be Poison by Rita Ora.

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

It’s hard to pick a favorite genre, but I love romance of all kinds, dark and light. I also love fantasy books too, so I’m quite versatile in what I read.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

My TBR pile is huge and ever growing! I’ve just started The Ritual by Shantel Tessier this week, and I’m so excited to read it, as I’ve had it on my TBR pile for a while. There are too many to list, but I intend to read The Sinner after.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

My favorite scene to write in Pride had to be when Isiah confesses his true intentions to Bella and tells her why he hates her family and wants revenge. It’s a pivotal moment in their relationship, which I enjoyed writing.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I don’t have any quirky writing habits. Although, I like to change things up throughout the day. So, I’ll often write at my desk for a bit and then spend time in the garden, if the weather is nice, writing.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

The motto I live by is quite simple, if you want to do something, just do it. Don’t wait, as life is too short! It’s why I started writing which I love, and I haven’t looked back since.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

One thing I’d choose for my readers to remember after reading my book, is the way Isiah and Bella changed for one another for the better.
