Princess Charlotte Makes Her First Wimbledon Appearance With Brother George

On Sunday, Princess Charlotte achieved a royal family milestone when she was given the go ahead to attend Wimbledon alongside her parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and her brother Prince George. This is the first time the daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton has accompanied the family to the major tennis competition, and she was dressed to her best.

The eight-year-old was wearing a dress in a pale blue paisley print with an embroidered waist and short scalloped sleeves. Her hair was partly held back with a matching blue ribbon and she was wearing white Mary Janes and carried a pair of pink-framed sunglasses for when the court got a little too bright.

Kate Middleton was dressed in emerald green, wearing a midi dress designed by Roland Mouret with three quarter sleeves and ruched fabric along the bodice. She accessorized with matching emerald drop earrings and a pair of suede nude heels. She led the group to the front row of the Royal Box to watch the game.

Charlotte has been seen at sports events before, attended the Euros final last year and the Commonwealth Games. At the end of this event, she and George received Wimbledon goodie bags after enjoying the starts of the Men’s Singles final.

The only person who wasn’t happy about the new adventure was Charlotte and George’s younger brother, Prince Louis. Princess of Wales reportedly told Ella Ottaway, organizer of All England Club’s young people program, that the prince was “very upset” to be excluded.

“It’s Charlotte’s first time, George came last year,” she explained. “They’ve been eagerly watching… Louis was very upset he wasn’t coming today.”
